The excursion also includes a visit to a traditional sago-processing area, where guests can observe how the sago palm is prepared and transformed using methods that have been passed down through generations.
For guests with a full day in port, the journey continues inland toward the Toraja Highlands, one of Indonesia’s most distinctive cultural regions. The program includes a visit to Lemo, known for its ancient cliff graves and carved burial chambers, followed by Londa, where ancestral tombs are located within limestone caves and rock formations.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the excursion continues to Kete Kesu, a traditional Toraja village renowned for its tongkonan ancestral houses, rice barns, woodcarving traditions, and ceremonial landscape. The village offers an introduction to Toraja architecture, family heritage, and the enduring relationship between the living, their ancestors, and the land.
