Our Story
Pacébo was born from a deep fascination with Indonesia’s most remarkable cultural frontiers — places where ancient traditions, sacred landscapes, and living communities continue to shape the soul of the archipelago.
Our name reflects the destinations that first defined our journey:
Pa — Papua
Cé — Celebes / Sulawesi
Bo — Borneo / Kalimantan
For decades, these regions remained mysterious to many travellers. To us, they became a calling.
We are an experienced and dedicated team of travel professionals, field operators, guides, and cultural interpreters who design journeys into Indonesia’s remote and meaningful destinations. Our expeditions have become increasingly valued by overseas wholesalers, travel partners, documentary filmmakers, researchers, anthropologists, and discerning travellers seeking more than a conventional tour.
At Pacébo Tours, our executives and co-owners remain closely involved in both the daily operations and the fieldwork of the company. “I have been personally involved in inbound tourism in Indonesia since 1974 — beginning as a porter, then continuing my path as a guide, consultant, advisor, and manager.
Throughout the years, I have had the privilege of helping pioneer travel into some of Indonesia’s most remote regions. These journeys have brought travellers closer to the Torajan people of Sulawesi, the Dayak communities of Kalimantan, and the Dani, Yali, and Asmat cultures of Papua.
Pacébo Tours was created to share these extraordinary places with care, knowledge, and responsibility.
